HOMEOWNER PREP CHECKLIST

Get your home camera-ready

2026 Master Template · U.S. General

FOR THE HOMEOWNER

Think of the photo and 3D-tour day as your home’s first open house — but with a million potential buyers. The cleaner and more thoughtfully staged it is, the better it shows. Spend 30–60 minutes on the items below the morning of the shoot.

Before the Photographer Arrives

Throughout the home

☐ All interior lights ON (lamps, accent, overhead, under-cabinet).

☐ Replace any burned-out bulbs; aim for matching color temperature where possible.

☐ Ceiling fans OFF.

☐ Blinds and curtains OPEN to let in natural light (or all CLOSED for a moodier look — pick one and stay consistent).

☐ Remove personal photographs and religious / political items if you want the home to feel buyer-neutral.

☐ Hide cords, charging cables, and remote controls.

☐ Pet items out of view (bowls, beds, toys, litter box, leash hooks).

☐ Pets out of the home, in a kennel, or with a friend during the shoot.

☐ Trash and recycling bins moved to garage / behind a fence.

Kitchen

☐ Clear all countertops (small appliances, mail, knife block, dish soap bottle, sponges).

☐ No fridge magnets, papers, or kid art on the fridge.

☐ Sink empty, dishes dried and put away.

☐ Stovetop wiped down; remove kettle and trivets unless intentional.

☐ Dining table cleared or set with a simple centerpiece.

☐ Floor swept; rugs straightened.

Living and family rooms

☐ Pillows fluffed; sofas straightened.

☐ Throw blankets folded or removed.

☐ TV OFF; cables hidden if possible.
