What is the Twilight Prep Checklist?

The Twilight Prep Checklist is a structured property-preparation form designed for real estate photographers, listing agents, and 3D tour creators to coordinate every detail before a twilight photo session. It covers interior and exterior lighting setup, pool and patio staging, window treatments, smart-home device readiness, and curb appeal — all anchored to a precise sunset arrival window. The checklist documents confirmed tasks in writing, creating a shared reference for both the photographer and the listing agent before the shoot begins.

When should you use this form?

The Twilight Prep Checklist should be used any time a real estate photographer is scheduled to shoot a property during the blue hour or at dusk. It is especially critical for listings with pools, outdoor fire features, landscape lighting, or smart-home systems that require advance coordination. Send it to the listing agent or homeowner 24–48 hours before the scheduled shoot so every lighting fixture, remote control, and outdoor space is confirmed ready before the photographer arrives.

What's included in this template?

  • Property and session details: address, sunset time, and contact information
  • Arrival and timing clause with optional waiting-fee increment language
  • Interior lighting checklist: fixtures, bulb color temperature (2700K–3000K), and fan/TV confirmation
  • Exterior lighting checklist: porch, path, soffit, and pool lights switched to manual ON mode
  • Window and curtain preparation instructions for interior glow visibility
  • Pool, spa, and patio staging checklist: water clarity, pump status, furniture, and fire pit
  • Remote controls and smart-home devices inventory: gate, pool, fireplace, and thermostat
  • Driveway and exterior curb-appeal checklist and final walk-through confirmation sign-off

How do I fill out this form?

  1. Open the form at forms.wgan.info. Navigate to forms.wgan.info and locate the Twilight Prep Checklist in the real estate photography or property-prep category. Click the form title to open the online version.
  2. Enter property and session details. Fill in the property address, shoot date, scheduled sunset time, and contact information for both the photographer and the listing agent in the Property and Session Details section at the top.
  3. Complete each preparation section. Work through each checklist section — interior lighting, exterior lighting, pool and patio, remote controls, and curb appeal — confirming or flagging each item as ready, pending, or not applicable.
  4. Review the arrival and timing clause. Confirm the 15-minutes-before-sunset arrival requirement and, if applicable, fill in the waiting-fee rate per 15-minute increment in the Arrival and Timing section.
  5. Complete the final walk-through sign-off. Use the Final Walk-Through Confirmation section to record that all checklist items have been addressed before the photographer's scheduled arrival time.
  6. Download and distribute the completed checklist. Download the completed checklist as a PDF from forms.wgan.info and share it with the listing agent and homeowner as the confirmed pre-shoot preparation record.

What this form covers

Property & Session Details

Fill in the property address, shoot date, scheduled sunset time, and both the photographer's and listing agent's contact details at the top of the form. Every twilight session is anchored to a precise sunset window — this section keeps everyone aligned before a single light switch is flipped.

Arrival & Timing

The photographer arrives **15 minutes before sunset** — not at sunset. This checklist spells that out in writing and includes an optional waiting-fee clause (per 15-minute increment) if the property isn't ready on arrival. Capturing that perfect blue-hour glow is unforgiving; there are no re-dos once the sky turns black.

Interior Lighting Preparation

  • All lamps and overhead fixtures **ON** and tested - **Soft-white bulbs (2700K–3000K)** confirmed throughout — cool or daylight bulbs flagged for replacement - Under-cabinet kitchen lights, staircase lighting, and fireplace addressed individually - Televisions and ceiling fans confirmed **OFF** to avoid distracting motion blur

The warm-bulb requirement alone saves photographers from post-production color-cast nightmares.

Exterior Lighting Preparation

Every porch light, landscape path light, soffit fixture, and pool light must be **ON and tested** a set number of minutes before the photographer arrives — not scrambled on at the last second. Motion-sensor lights are flagged to be switched to manual ON mode so they don't flicker during long exposures.

Pool, Spa & Patio Preparation

A complete pool-deck checklist covers water clarity, pump status, pool-cover removal, patio furniture arrangement, outdoor cushions, fire-pit ignition, and removal of hoses, toys, and equipment from frame.

Remote Controls & Smart Home Devices

Gate remotes, pool-light controllers, gas-fireplace remotes, and smart-thermostat settings are all itemized — because hunting for a remote in the dark costs blue-hour minutes nobody can afford.
